Mode has a very long history of supporting its Charities Marie Curie, Together for Short Lives and Blue Cross.
We are all aware of how challenging this last year has been and never before have charities struggled to access the funds, they so vitally need in order to support the work they do. The pandemic has meant that regular donations are significantly reduced and
Therefore, it was with great excitement that we recently contacted our three charities to inform them that were making another donation!
Here’s what our charities had to say about this:
“This is brilliant news and very much needed. On behalf of everyone at Marie Curie, I would just like to say that this donation and the previous £10,000 donation it will make a real difference.
Our nurses have worked hard and in some very difficult situations and faced with challenges they have never faced before – the Marie Curie nurses smile is generally essential to their role and part of what makes them special, but everything was hidden behind shields and masks. But the nurses have been working hard and still visiting and supporting patients at home and adapting to the continuous change in how they are able to work.
As well as the nursing service Marie Curie had to make some immediate reactions to the COVID-19 19 pandemic, and I have shared these below – most of these are accessible to everyone across the UK. Marie Curie has received £6,000. Which I total as £25,000 of the last 5 years. Thank you for this and your continued support.” Peter Sara, Marie Curie
Jessy Smith from Together for Short lives commented:
“Wow, this has just made my day/week/month!! This is such an incredible email to receive during what has been such a bleak month and such a difficult year – we really cannot thank you enough and are so overwhelmed by your generosity.
This last year has been an extraordinary one for all of us, but for families caring for seriously ill children, life has been nearly impossible. We acted quickly – focusing our energies on helping families who were shielding and terrified that that their vulnerable child would catch Covid-19. We therefore cannot thank you enough for your kindness. It really does make a difference to seriously ill children across the UK, especially during such overwhelming and difficult times!”
Heather Collin from Blue Cross said: “I am taken a back with this wonderful donation and support Modes Solution is making to support the work we do here at Blue Cross, especially during these hard times we are currently in.”
It is with our pleasure that we have made these contributions to our charities and we are proud to be able to support them particularly now.
